Welcome to the SANITEC Family

Below you will find the use and care instructions for the SANITEC sink you have chosen for your kitchen.

1. Use protective accessories on your sink

Place protective accessories on the sink surface, such as cutting boards, silicone mats, or stainless steel grids.
These act as a shield, preventing the sink from coming into direct contact with hot cookware or sharp utensils.
This helps you avoid:
• Thermal shock that may cause cracks or surface damage
Scratches or abrasions from knives and metal cookware
Chipping or breakage from the sudden impact of heavy objects

2. Avoid direct contact with sharp or overheated cookware

Never place pots, pans, baking trays, brikis (coffee pots), or any cooking vessel that has been exposed to high temperatures directly onto the sink surface — especially when they exceed 180°C.
👉 Cookware containing oil, water, or sauces can internally reach temperatures of up to 250°C, which exceeds the sink’s material specifications.
Even if the contents feel “lukewarm,” the base of the cookware may be extremely hot.

3. Avoid sudden temperature changes

Prevent thermal shock.
For example, pouring boiling water directly over frozen food or ice cubes can damage the sink’s surface.
💡 To protect the sink, always let cold tap water run first before pouring boiling water — this helps balance the temperature.

4. Do not use the sink as a cutting surface

Cutting food directly on the sink or dragging cookware across it may cause scratches that become more visible over time.
Likewise, heavy impacts or dropped objects can lead to permanent damage.

5. Do not leave the tap running unattended

Unattended running water can cause overflow, leading to damage to cabinets, flooring, and plumbing.
Even a “small” oversight can result in significant repair costs.

6. Keep your sink clean

Daily cleaning is the key to keeping your sink looking new. Make sure to:
• Empty food residues and debris from the drain valve.
• Wipe and dry the surface after each use to prevent stains, mold, or limescale buildup.

• Clean the drain system regularly to avoid bad odors or blockages.

7. Use appropriate cleaning agents

The best choice is mild liquid dish soap and a soft cloth or the non-abrasive (yellow) side of a sponge.

❌ Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or sharp tools, as they can scratch the surface.

⚠️ Chemicals such as alcohol, gasoline, or pure chlorine can permanently alter the color and texture of your sink.

Conclusion

The sink is one of the most heavily used surfaces in the kitchen.
With proper use and maintenance, it will remain beautiful and functional for many years — protecting your investment from unnecessary repair or replacement costs.

SANITEC sinks are covered by a 6-year warranty for the Classic series and a 25-year warranty for the Ultra series, provided that the above care and maintenance instructions are followed.
